Emily Jane Brontë is an independent publication operated by Kyle Garrison. It does not require reader accounts, process payments, or use advertising or visitor-analytics services.
Privacy
The site is hosted by Netlify. Like other web hosts, Netlify may process technical information such as an IP address, browser and device information, referral information, and requests made to the site for delivery, reliability, and security. Netlify describes that processing in its privacy policy.
The light-and-dark theme control stores a preference in the visitor’s browser. That preference is not submitted to this publication.
Email updates
Joining the email list is voluntary. The signup form sends the supplied email address directly to Buttondown, which provides subscription confirmation, mailing-list storage, delivery, and unsubscribe tools. The address is not stored in this site’s source repository and will not be sold.
Buttondown may also process technical subscription information, including an IP address, referral information, and subscription timestamps. Depending on the newsletter configuration, it may process email-delivery and engagement information. Its handling of subscriber data is described in the Buttondown privacy policy and its data-protection information.
The list is used only for publication emails. Every subscriber may unsubscribe through the link supplied in those messages. Questions about, corrections to, or deletion requests concerning a subscribed address may be sent through the contact route below.
